HKSH Lee Tak Hong Allergy Centre

Relief from Allergies and Allergy Conditions

Receive expert care in the diagnosis and treatment of allergies

HKSH Lee Tak Hong Allergy Centre is one of the leading centres in Hong Kong and the Asia-Pacific region in the diagnosis and treatment of all types of allergies and allergy-related conditions related to eye, nasal, respiratory, skin and gastrointestinal disorders.

It is supported by a holistic team of doctors, dietitians and nurses specialising in the management of allergies. And the Centre is named after the late Professor LEE Tak Hong, the Centre’s founder and inaugural Director from 2012 to 2022, in appreciation of his contributions to allergy and respiratory medicine. The naming also affirms HKSH’s commitment to continuing Professor LEE’s legacy by advancing allergy care locally and globally in three distinct areas: service provision, education and research.

The full range of tests and treatments we offer covers different allergic conditions, including drug allergy testing, food desensitisation (immunotherapy) and house dust mite desensitisation, among others.

Treatment Rooms

Our multi-functional treatment rooms are equipped to provide comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including minor surgeries and skin biopsies, in a controlled and hygienic environment. All rooms are designed with negative pressure systems to prevent the spread of airborne allergens, providing a safe environment for both patients and healthcare providers. They are also fully equipped for assessing respiratory conditions with lung function testing such as spirometry and FeNO tests.

Observation Rooms

The observation rooms are meticulously designed to ensure patient safety and effective monitoring during treatment such as challenge tests and immunotherapy. Each room is equipped with 24-hour CCTV surveillance, allowing our team to continuously monitor patients and promptly respond to any adverse reactions. Vital signs equipment is readily available to measure essential parameters such as blood pressure and heart rate, ensuring comprehensive patient assessment and monitoring.

Additionally, the rooms feature a one-way air flow system to minimise the spread of allergens in a controlled environment, reducing the risk of allergen exposure. This combination of advanced monitoring and safety features ensures that patients receive optimal care during their treatment.

Allergy Kitchen

With non-porous, easy-to-clean surfaces, the allergy kitchen is specially designed to facilitate safe food preparation for allergy testing and treatment. Different food allergens can now be handled separately to prevent mix-ups during food preparation and minimise the risk of cross-contamination. Additionally, the kitchen is installed with specialised tools designated for accurate measurement of food allergens.
