Weight Management Programme

Overweight and obesity are associated with numerous chronic diseases, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and many forms of cancer and musculoskeletal problems (e.g. osteoarthritis). Weight management is thus very important. Our weight management programme is a supervised and personalised programme that combines exercise and education for individuals who are overweight or obese.
Weight maintenance and reduction should be accompanied by a healthy balance of regular exercise and caloric intake. Our physiotherapists can help you take concrete steps towards a more desirable body weight and a healthier lifestyle. At our centre, we also make use of unweighting technology (e.g. AlterG® Anti-Gravity Treadmill™) to ensure your workouts put less stress and pain on your joints.
A resting metabolic rate assessment is also available to accurately evaluate an individual’s daily caloric needs. An appropriate calories balance can further enhance your weight management goals.
Individuals who are overweight or obese can join our programme:
| Overweight | BMI ≥ 25 kg/m² |
| Obesity | BMI ≥ 30 kg/m² |
| Waist girth > 102 cm (men) | |
