Rehabilitation Room
Our Rehabilitation Room consists of a treatment room and exercise area. Physiotherapists provide manual therapy and electrical therapy to patients in the treatment room, while the exercise area is equipped with advanced tools for therapeutic exercises by patients.

Well-Equipped Gym Room
The Gym Room is equipped with advanced exercise equipment so that patients can perform muscle strengthening and aerobic conditioning exercises.
Cough Assist
The Cough Assist Machine is a non-invasive mechanical device. It assists patient to clear sputum by applying positive pressure on the airway, then a rapid shift to negative pressure in order to produce an expiratory flow from the lung. It induces a good chest expansion.
Oscillation mode further loosens the secretion. It is useful for patients with an ineffective cough due to chronic respiratory disease or neuromuscular disorders with paralysed respiratory muscles. This device can be used on tracheostomised and ventilated patients and patients with facemask.
Cough assist therapy for intubated patients involves non-invasive techniques for improving coughing effort and promoting bronchial hygiene for intubated patients.
LPG Cellu M6
LPG Cellu M6 - Endermotherapy is a non-invasive treatment device. Research shows that it can reduce signs of inflammation or lymphoedema. It can also minimise dysfunction caused by pain, ease soft tissue fibrosis/scars and muscular tension, and delay onset muscle soreness (DOMS).
Manual Hyperinflation (MHI) & Ventilator Hyperinflation (VHI) techniques
Manual Hyperinflation (MHI) & Ventilator Hyperinflation (VHI) are manual driven and ventilator driven chest physiotherapy techniques. They are used by physiotherapists for improving chest expansion and sputum removal in ventilated patients. A deep inspiration following by a quick expiration was introduced with these techniques. The effectiveness of these techniques for removing sputum and reversed atelectasis in ventilated patients has been proven in research studies. They also increase the success rate of extubation and weaning patients off the ventilator.

Musculoskeletal (MSK) Ultrasound Imaging
MSK Ultrasound imaging is widely used in monitoring or detecting various musculoskeletal problems such as knee pain, ankle pain and shoulder pain. Ultrasound imaging allows better visualisation of muscles, tendons and ligaments. It helps physiotherapists confirm the area and nature of an injury. It is a non-invasive, safe and reliable technology.

Lokomat Lower Limb Robotics System
Functional Robotic Gait Therapy with Lokomat offers the most physiological gait pattern with constant feedback and therapy assessment. Therapy with Lokomat shows positive results and functional improvements for improving over-ground walking function in neurological patients worldwide. It improves patient outcomes by increasing therapy volume and intensity, providing task-specific training and increasing patient engagement.
AlterG® Anti-Gravity Treadmill
This treadmill is equipped with precise unweighting technology, which allows physical therapy rehabilitation and training with reduced impact of gravity by selecting any weight between 20% and 100% of your body weight. It provides rehabilitation of lower extremity injuries with less pain, less impact and less stress on joints and muscles. It can also shorten the duration of the rehabilitation period.
Primus RS
HKSH pioneered the use of Primus RS for evaluating and training in sports rehabilitation. The computerised system not only enables functional evaluation and training but also provides data for analysis and progress monitoring. It is equipped with different accessories specially designed for different sports.

Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy
Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy is used to treat tendon and muscle conditions, including tennis elbow, jumper’s knee, shoulder rotator cuff pain, Achilles tendinitis and plantar fasciitis. The shockwaves are abrupt, high-amplitude mechanical pulses, similar to sound waves, generated through electromagnetic, electrohydraulic, piezoelectric or radial mechanisms. The hypothesised physiological mechanisms of healing on musculoskeletal conditions involve the stimulation of angiogenesis and neurogenesis.
Gyrotonic Expansion System®
Through specially designed movements, the GYROTONIC® exercise system provides strengthening, coordination, precision and flexibility training. Unlike conventional exercises that involve linear and isolated movements, GYROTONIC® exercises emphasise multiple joint co-ordination without compression. It is widely used in rehabilitation and sports performance enhancement.

Pilates Reformer
Pilates is a key rehabilitation exercise system that uses resistance-based equipment such as the Reformer, Multi-Chair and Barrel, alongside mat exercises. These exercises target the "power centres" – abdominal, back, and hip muscles – to enhance body stability while promoting muscle strength, flexibility and posture balance. Pilates benefits various patients, including those with chronic low back pain, total joint replacements, chronic neck pain and sciatica. The combination of precise movements and resistance training makes it an effective method for improving physical function and rehabilitation outcomes.
Power Plate®
Power Plate is a vibrating platform that moves 20-50 Hz in three directions (up/down, forward/backward and side-to side). It makes use of the body’s reflexive response to vibration and contributes to enhanced training results. Studies show some evidence to support the use of vibration to improve strength, flexibility and proprioception in some population groups.

Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA)
Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) is a method for estimating body composition, in particular body fat and muscle mass. It is a good tool for monitoring the progress of weight management, lymphoedema and sarcopenia.
