Skin Conditions

Corns and Callus
Corns and calluses are areas of thickened skin that develop to protect your feet from repeated friction, pressure, or ill-fitting footwear. While they start as a natural defence mechanism, they can eventually become deeply impacted, painful, and uncomfortable to walk on.
Our Treatment Approach: Professional podiatric care involves the painless debridement of thickened skin using specialised podiatric instruments. Most importantly, we address the underlying biomechanical causes to prevent them from returning. Podiatrists may also apply protective padding or prescribe foot orthotics to prevent the problem from recurring.

Foot Fungal Skin Infection
Often referred to as athlete’s foot, fungal skin infections thrive in the warm, moist environments inside shoes, leading to itching and peeling. If left untreated, the infection can easily spread to other areas of the foot or cross-infect the toenails.
Our Treatment Approach: Podiatrists recommend targeted topical antifungal medications to clear the infection and alleviate itching. Patients are also educated on strict foot hygiene, footwear disinfection and personal solution to prevent reinfection and restore healthy skin.

Foot Wound & Ulcer
Foot wounds and ulcers are serious skin breaks that require immediate, specialised medical attention to prevent severe complications and dangerous infections. These open sores often develop from minor irritations or wounds coupled with poor circulation or reduced nerve sensation.
Our Treatment Approach: Our clinical team focuses on advanced wound care, offloading pressure, and promoting healing to protect your overall limb health. Podiatric treatment involves specialised dressings to promote wound healing, alongside sharp debridement of devitalised tissue. For wounds related to mechanical problems, our podiatrists use customised orthotics or insoles for strategic pressure offloading to accelerate healing.

Warts/Verrucae of the Feet
Plantar warts, or verrucae, are stubborn skin lesions caused by a viral infection in the top layer of the skin, often making walking feel like stepping on a sharp pebble. Because they are highly contagious and deeply rooted, over-the-counter treatments frequently fail to clear them entirely.
Our Treatment Approach: Podiatric treatment focuses on destroying the viral tissue through conservative methods such as debridement of the overlying hard skin and application of topical caustic chemical, cryotherapy and laser treatment.
