Our Microbiology Laboratory introduced the first Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization Time-of-Flight (MALDI-TOF) Mass Spectrometer in Hong Kong in 2012 to identify bacterial infections and plan treatments. 

In 2019, we introduced Asia’s first Accelerate Pheno System (Pheno), a breakthrough in laboratory diagnosis of septicaemia. 

In August 2023, the Chemical Pathology Laboratory launched the Roche Cobas p612 CCM Laboratory Automation System (LAS). This system features an online centrifuge, decapper, aliquoter, sorter and recapper. Patient samples are automatically transported to the chemistry and immunoassay analysers linked to LAS via the track. With this system, we can turn around routine clinical chemistry services that are more accurate in less time. 

The Di-60 by Sysmex is a digital imaging analyser that provides a fully integrated haematology solution with automated cell image analysis. It not only enhances laboratory productivity but also promotes consistency and standardisation of cell differential results through automated pre-classification and pre-characterisation of cells.
