HKSH Institute for Innovation & Professional Development (IIPD)
The establishment of HKSH Institute for Innovation & Professional Development (IIPD) is a significant milestone in the ongoing commitment of the HKSH Medical Group (“HKSH”) to advancing medical education and research. It addresses the need for improving healthcare practices and fostering innovation within the medical community.
HKSH recognises the importance of providing healthcare professionals with ongoing training and professional development. In 2009, HKSH founded the Continuing Nursing Education Division, offering various training programmes for nurses and allied health professionals. We also formed partnerships with renowned institutions, such as University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Health, Johns Hopkins University, University of California San Francisco (UCSF) and University of Toronto, to provide overseas on-the-job professional development.
To further enhance HKSH’s efforts in continuing education for nurses and allied health professionals, IIPD was established in 2024. It serves as a dedicated platform for lifelong learning, knowledge exchange, and skill enhancement among healthcare professionals. IIPD aligns with the vision and objectives of The Li Shu Fan Medical Foundation, which was established in 1963 by Dr. Li Shu Fan, to advance medical education and research.
