We Care for Work-Life Balance of Our Staff

HKSH cares about the physical and psychological well-being of our staff with an emphasis our 3T spirits, namely Teaching, Teamwork and Trust. On top of professional education, training and research in the healthcare service sector, we strive to enable our employees to excel in their professional capacities in a fair and happy work environment. We also actively engage in open, honest communication with our staff members, and with mutual understanding we roll out a competitive package with reasonable work hours, leaves, benefits as well as wide-ranging recreational activities and community services, thereby allowing our staff to keep an optimal work-life balance with less stress.

HKSH Village Clubs

Sponsored by HKSH on an annual basis, the 18 HKSH Village Clubs set out to promote staff cohesion and interaction through wide-ranging recreational activities. The recreational clubs are: Football Club, Village Farm, Village Arts, Yoga Club, Photographic Club, Table Tennis Club, Badminton Club, Basketball Club, Volleyball Club, Tennis Club, Golf Club, Dodgeball Club, Happy Wanderers, Running Club, Aqua Sports Club, Shooters Club, Gym and Village Assembly.



HKSH Village Volunteers

Established in 2009, HKSH Village Volunteers encourage staff members to reach out to the community and help the needy by active participation in charitable activities and voluntary services.



Staff Meetings and Campaigns

HKSH places a strong emphasis on the active interaction between the management and staff members. Annual retreats, 3T meetings and annual dinners are thus conducted to enhance communication between departments. HKSH also cares about the well-being of its staff members with different staff-oriented campaigns, such as the “Be Healthy Be Green” Campaign in 2016, which set out to raise staff health awareness by highlighting the importance of regular exercises and healthy diet in creating a healthy and happy work environment.

Under the guidance of the Occupational and Safety Committee, HKSH strives for an incident-free workplace with a wide array of measures to enhance staff awareness and promote a safety culture. In 2017, the ‘Occupational Rehabilitation Program in HKSH’ was awarded the Gold Award of the 16th Hong Kong Occupational Safety & Health Award.
