Established by Dr. Li Shu Fan on 3 March 1963, The Li Shu Fan Medical Foundation (The Foundation) aims to promote and support medical education, medical research and charity work in Hong Kong.
The brainchild of Dr. Li has matured over the last 60 years through the medical endeavours of HKSH Medical Group (HKSH) and its members.
HKSH is solely owned by The Foundation. It operates under a not-for-profit model that focuses on a strong sense of purpose and a commitment to making lasting contributions to advancing medical science, as well as to nurturing the next-generation of medical talent to improve the health of the people.
After meeting its operational costs, all surplus revenues from HKSH and its operational members are invested in upgrading medical equipment, expanding medical operations, and supporting medical education for the generations to come.
As we pay tribute to Dr. Li and commemorate the 60th anniversary of The Foundation, we have introduced a new logo. The new, modern design features a clear and iconic image of the trunk, leaves and fruit of a pear tree, symbolising the foundation’s history and the strength it has shown in perpetuating Dr. Li’s vision which has withstood the test of time through HKSH. The Foundation will continue to blossom and bear fruit in the medical sphere in the years to come, and its work will benefit our community.
