Chairperson Welcome message

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is my honor and privilege to welcome you to participate in the Third Multidisciplinary Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Symposium on Pain Management (MSK US PM) 2012. Last tow year we had made this meeting became a very unique meeting in having a real Multidisciplinary Clinical oriented sharing among our International and local faculty , as well as support form Sponsors and Participants. MSK US PM is having the uniqueness of combining the Clinical and Academic Experts from both Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Applications and Ultrasound for Pain Management & Sports Medicine, with Multidisciplinary involvements and supported from from several Asia IASP pain organizations.

We have put together this year a two and half day scientific program, with Total Person Approach – from Basic to Advance cutting edge academic and up to date Clinical Trend with Lectures, Panel Discussions, Real Time Expert scanning demonstration (Sportsman Round) , Video demonstration and Hands on workshop with real pathologies. We are going to focus on Clinical Applications with cases sharing of different MSK pain conditions, with more Intensive Musculoskeletal and Pain Management US Workshops this year. Over Thirty Six Opinion leaders, both overseas and locally, will deliver and exchange experience in this State of the Art field of Musculoskeletal and Pain medicine with the Uniqueness of using Ultrasound as Point of Care tool for both Static and Dynamic assessment Tools for musculoskeletal system and Clinical pearls in both diagnosis and Pain Interventional Procedures.

I sincerely hope the symposium will be an Annual Forum for sharing, communications, fostering understanding amongst colleagues, musculoskeletal and pain experts and researchers, allowing Better Multidisciplinary Total Person Pain Management for Pain suffers.

In addition to Science, you may find the opportunity to take in Hong Kong a city of diversity, a City of Life, the energetic side with a visit to the nearby happy valley horse racing course or Victoria Harbour, Repulse bay and Stanley; Experience the nice walk around the Peak and Hong Kong island trail in Parkview, Hong Kong sample cuisine in the many excellent restaurants the city has to offer making for a memorable experience.

We would like to specially thank the Dedicated hard work of the members of the Organising Committee, Who sacrifice a lot of their own time for the planning and implementations of the meeting. I would also like to thank all the Overseas and Local Faculty to spare their precious time and energy to come to support this symposium. Special acknowledgements also given to the supporting chapters of International Associations of Study of Pain, namely The Pain Association of Singapore, The Malaysian Association for the Study of Pain (MASP), The Thai Association for the Study of Pain (TASP), Korean Pain Society, Chinese Association for the Study of Pain (CASP) and Hong Kong Pain Society. Last but not the lease, we must extend our deepest gratitude to our health industry partners, who have kindly agreed to sponsor this symposium and also the Sportsmen from the Hong Kong Multisports Association to help in the live demonstrations and workshops.
