How is it performed?

  1. The surgery could be done with topical anaesthesia or other types of anaesthesia.
  2. Place a speculum to hold the lids apart.
  3. Use laser (Intralase) or special blade to create corneal stromal tunnels.
  4. Insert the ICRs.
  5. Suturing is required which can be removed 2 to 4 weeks after surgery.
  6. Apply antibiotic and anti-inflammatory eye drops.
